Leather and lace

14 Dec

I’ll never forget what my mom said to me the day I came home with a pierced nose.

At the ripe ol’ age of 18, she looked me square in the eyes and sternly said, “Now, don’t go coppin’ an attitude, thinking you’re all bad and rough now you have a piercing!  I know how these things change people!”

She promptly followed her lecture (and my requisite rolling eyes) with how cute she thought my nose looked, and how my new nose jewelry perfectly suited my face.

So, when I came home one day wearing this leather jacket, my whole family roasted the heck out of me.  No, I don’t drive a Harley or own brass knuckles.  And no, I sure don’t have a switchblade in my hip pocket.

If they they all knew about my hidden rose, American flag, and bald eagle tattoos, I’d never hear the end of it.

{patterned silk dress: Anne Taylor Loft}  {faux leather jacket: Target} {lavender knee socks: F21} {grey tights: Kohl’s} {pink elastic belt: thrifted} {white watch: Kohl’s} {black boots: thrifted}

P.S.  I realize there’s no lace in this post, but I liked the name too much to change it.
